Easter Break: Ideas for Getting Out and About

Welcome Easter break! Whether you are a parent of multiple school children, a blended family, or your brood are still in the nursery years, it’s likely households will be busy for the next few weeks. As the weather warms up and the outdoors become a more appealing place to be, we’ve put together our top ideas for how to spend the Easter break - without breaking the bank!

    Visit your local farm

Now is a wonderful time to visit your local farm or farm activities centre. Every farm will be different, but many will be offering opportunities to see new lambs, meet chicks and explore how springtime factors into the life cycle of farm animals. Take the opportunity to talk about how farms impact the rest of our lives, and how important it is to care for the animals around us.

Explore your local woodland, Easter style

Get out and enjoy nature in your local woodland with these fun activities suggested by the Woodland Trust! Aside from Easter specific family ideas, many events, such as themed Julia Donaldson book trails, happen to be on at this time of year, so keep your eyes peeled on their events page to see what’s on near you.

Take advantage of child meal deals

Many restaurants, supermarkets and cafes offer free or low cost children’s meals during the longer school holidays, so why not take advantage! Which! Have a great guide here.

    National Trust Easter events

The National Trust never lets us down - and it comes to the rescue every school break, Easter being no exception! This Easter, the National Trust are running a fantastic variety of events for children, from Easter hunts to trails and adventures. Head to their Easter specific webpage to find out what’s going on near you.

English Heritage and Lego Big Brick Build

If you have an English Heritage property near you, as with the National Trust, there’s a lot on this Easter. We’re particularly excited about their Lego Big Brick Build events across the UK, where children can get involved in building all sorts of fantastical creations with challenges alongside.

Easter events and camps at Club Hub

Club Hub always shares a great variety of events across the school year - Easter being no exception. Head to their Easter page to see what clubs, Easter camps and more are going on local to you - you might even get some childcare out of the deal, too!

    Getting arty

If you’re in the mood for culture, Art Pass have a great selection of activities going on across Easter, too, from events at country houses to special events at museums. Head to their events page to see what’s on.

    London based?

If you’re based in, or near the capital (you lucky thing) you’re spoiled for choice with activities. Visit London have put together a fresh new guide for 2025 listing everything going on over the Easter weekend, and across this season generally.

    Happy holidays!

However you choose to spend them, we hope you have a happy few weeks with your family. Happy Easter if you celebrate!
