Hi there! My name is Helen and I run my own business called KERNOWSPA®. We manufacture natural skincare and toiletries, and also home fragrance products such as scented soy wax candles and room diffusers. All of our products are handmade by us in Cornwall.
Why did I set my business up? After graduating in Chemistry at university I went on to pursue a career in cosmetic science. I worked for different companies in the UK formulating products for many high street brands. I loved my job, but I knew that I wanted to do it for myself and be my own boss! So in 2010 I quit my job and moved back home to Cornwall. I wanted to formulate my own products and use ingredients that I wanted to use, rather than being told what had to be included in the products (which were often the lowest cost ingredients rather than the best ingredients!). In 2011 I launched KERNOWSPA® with three products that had been thoroughly tested and complied with all cosmetic regulations. From there I organically grew the business, to the point where we now have over 100 products, all of which I’m proud to say we make ourselves!
As a small brand it is important to show that our products are well thought of, so in 2016 we started to enter beauty awards. We have won numerous awards since then, and are hoping for a successful award season this year. We are excited to have already signed up 18 new stockists for 2019, including a few well know tourist attractions which are a great fit for our handmade gifts.
Our plans for the future are to work with more UK based businesses, both suppliers and stockists. Our products suit being displayed in independent gift shops, so we would like to find lots more independents to work with.
Having a Custom Rubber Stamp is really important for us, as we use our logo in lots of places, from the paper bags when we sell at shows, the boxes that we pack large orders into, to stamping envelopes and gift vouchers. A Personalized Stamp allows us to put our logo onto all of this, without the need for stickers everywhere (thus reducing cost and not using plastic labels!). The Custom Stamp that Stamptastic have made for us is perfect, it’s so easy to grip and use, and allows us to put our logo on everything quickly and easily. I cannot recommend it highly enough!
