Starting School Free Resource: Playdough Activity Card

Free P&P within the UK for orders over £22

Kids love making and using play dough. Working with dough develops gross and fine motor skills, dexterity, essential elements that children need to enable them to be successful mark makers and writers.

A motor skill is simply an action that involves your child using their muscles. A gross motor skill is a larger movement using larger muscles eg running, kneading dough. A fine motor skill is a smaller movement using smaller muscles eg pinching, holding dough tools.

If you have a child starting reception class in september then this activity is great to help them practise their fine motor skills.

Key Skills: Fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, concentration
