I am still getting used to being a ‘business woman’! I was in the NHS for 25 years and was made redundant in 2017 and started my business, Sarah Greening Glass, the next day and haven’t looked back.
I fuse (melting it at about 800C) glass to make unusual jewellery – my designs are different to most glass jewellery because I like to play around with the chemistry of glass in a kiln to come up with techniques unique to me.
I won an #SBS small business award from Theo Paphitis after only 3 months in business which was amazing and having his name on my website and the award sitting on my stand when I do fairs etc is such a great boost for the business.
I have just come back from having a stand at my very first trade show at the NEC Spring Fair which was nerve-racking but I have now got some orders to shops that I wouldn’t normally have come across including 1 very prestigious organisation that I am itching to tell everyone about but have to wait before I can go public on that – follow me on social media to find out soon! I am @greeningglass on all platforms.
I already have a full diary of Art Markets this year and plan to do more trade shows in due course. I also run glass fusing classes alongside my potter husband in Worcester, so we are very busy with those in between markets!
The Rubber Stamp from Stamptastic is brilliant – I especially love the fact that you can see through the block so you can position the logo stamp exactly where you want it! This will be extremely useful when putting my Personalised Stamp onto jewellery cards and save me on printing costs. Thank you so much for the great Custom Stamp and service Stamptastic!
