We are Ashes & Oak and we create unique ceramic and wood turned gifts. We also design and deliver our ‘Make it 2 break it’ clay therapy programs to improve mental well-being.
We have always been a creative family and whilst working full-time as a primary school teacher and seeing the benefits to the children when working with clay I decided that I wanted to use my skills in ceramics to help people who were suffering with poor mental well-being. Working full time with ceramics also meant I was able to spend more time on creating larger sculptures of animals. The wood turning is undertaken by my husband and son alongside work and school and they create a wide range of things from delicate ornamental pieces to large chunky resin & wood bowls and traditional wooden toy sets.
Ashes & Oak are collaborating with a local luxury glamping site Brackenside Bell Tent Company to offer fantastic opportunities to get hands on with wood turning, clay throwing, raku firing and ceramic glazing whilst staying in beautifully appointed luxury bell tents in the fabulous Lincolnshire country side. We can’t wait to share our craft with everyone.
Our ‘Make it 2 Break it’ programs are currently fully funded and taking place across Lincolnshire to support carers. We would like to extend our work into the education sector and corporate markets. Everyone has mental health and everyone should have the opportunity to ensure that their mental health is well looked after.
We use our fabulous Small Business Logo Stamp to brand our brown bags and labels. We believe that receiving an Ashes & Oak parcel should be as much a part of the experience as the purchase itself, therefor we take great care in branding our packaging whilst being as environmentally friendly as possible.
