Hi, we’re Bays Consulting a micro data analytics company that provide accurate analysis, simply explained – data analytics to help you make business decisions, increase revenue and smile a little more. After all, analysis should be both profitable and fun!
The business was founded by Sophie in 2009 after she was made redundant and was looking for a job that both let her use her technical skills (having trained as an engineer and completed a PhD in Bayesian Statistics part time whilst working) and fitted with the demands of two small children. Having looked around for such a role, she decided it would be easier to set up her own company with the firm belief it couldn’t be that hard. Well, truth be told it turns out to be quite simple to set a company up, but generating cash flow and profit has been much harder.
It’s hard to believe that the company is coming up to its tenth anniversary in October this year. Of all the highs and lows that come with running a business, without doubt the last twelve months have been some of the most dramatic. Since February 2018, Sophie has hired her first employees, Abbie and Sam, and building on the extra capacity within the company won three awards: Theo Paphitis’ #SBS (Small Business Sunday); the Market Me #SmartSocial award and Andy Quinn’s #Queenof Statistics! All of the awards have given us the belief that we’re providing our clients with a great service and are harnessing the use of social media to share our message.
Moving into 2019 Bays Consulting is looking forwards to expanding into new markets and building contacts with companies of all sizes across as many sectors of industry as possible. We’re relishing attending a range of networking opportunities and this is where our Bespoke Rubber Stamp from Stamptastic is proving invaluable. There’s often a perception that analytics companies aren’t creative – that couldn’t be further from the truth! We might find patterns and shapes in data, but they are just as beautiful as anything hand-made and it’s wonderful to have such a high Personalized Stamp to use in our marketing and follow up material. What we really appreciated was the fact that Stamptastic went the extra mile to provide us with an Ink Pad in our company colour (and at Bays Consulting, we really like colour!) We’ve really been enjoying the fact that the stamp helps our material have the personal touch, it’s wonderful to be able to show that although much of our work is completed on a computer, it is still hand-made, creative and personalised to the customer.
